Parent coaching is a key part of ABA therapy for young kids with autism. It's where parents learn how to help their kids use the positive behaviors they learn in therapy at home and in daily life. This makes a big difference because it helps kids keep up the good behaviors and use them in different places, not just during therapy sessions.
With today's technology, parents can get this training online through telehealth. Telehealth sessions can provide parents with real-time guidance from ABA professionals. This approach can be particularly beneficial for parents of very young children with autism, as it allows for more frequent and convenient training sessions, ensuring that parents are well-equipped to support their child's developmental needs.
Parent coaching can be done in person or online via telehealth.
